What is "Ayla Bombe"?

Ayla Bombe is a coffee washing station that serves about 375 smallholder farmers in the village of Bombe in Sidama, Ethiopia. Coffees in Ethiopia are usually grown on very small plots of land by farmers who also grow other crops. Most farmers will deliver their coffee cherries to this nearby washing station to be sorted, weighed, and paid for. It is then processed by the washing station and dried on raised beds.
